Auction Terms
Please read the following terms and conditions for our auction. We have tried to be as complete as possible in covering the various issues that pertain to our sales. We also have noted the rules of other dog auctions and tried to be uniform with their terms. Hopefully as an auction industry all dog auctions follow similar rules and guidelines. Be assured we will do everything possible to see these terms and conditions are practiced by all who do business with Heartland Sales
Heartland Sales Does Not Guarantee Any Dog Or Any Item. We Serve Only As Agents.
Fees of $15.00 per dog must be paid at time of consignment.* If consignment fee is not paid by the time the catalog is processed, your dogs will not be entered in the sale. You may put a reserve on your dogs for a $5.00 per dog charge. Please send this along with your entry, ALONG WITH ORIGINAL REGISTRATION PAPERS! All of this must be received before dogs are accepted by Heartland Sales for consignment and entered into sale catalog. * Beginning with March sales there will an additional $1.00 consignment fee, this $1.00 will be taken from consignor proceeds. $15.00 fee must still be paid in advance.
2. No dogs will be sold for under $25.00.
3. Cash or Check with proper ID accepted. (First time buyers, if paying with check, must have bank letter of credit. Please present to cashier when registering for buyer number.)
4. If you are a successful bidder, dog/item becomes your property immediately after sold.
5. No dog removed until paid for. DOGS MUST BE CHECKED OUT BY HEARTLAND SALES STAFF. NO EXCEPTIONS!!
6. All dogs must be clean, healthy, easily handled (NO BITERS PLEASE), and most of all good representatives of the breed. Any dogs that do not meet the criteria will be refused for sale. Entry fees are non refundable. Remember all dogs need to be bathed and clean. Any dog showing ANY signs of sickness, disability, structural problems, or violating USDA/APHIS rules will be rejected.
7. NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ACCIDENTS OR INJURY TO MAN OR ANIMALS, OR LOST OR STOLEN ARTICLES.
8. 10% commission will be charged on all dogs sold and deducted from consignors check.
9. All sellers will be paid by check and will be mailed approximately 7-10 business days after the sale. Checks will be held if any dispute arises until settled between buyer and seller or if registration papers are not provided the day of the sale. Money may be held in escrow until a dispute is settled in court. Heartland Sales will only help as an advisor, but will in no way be held responsible for payment until after the dispute is settled between buyer and seller.
10. All dogs will be guaranteed against brucellosis for 40 days with a seven day veterinarian exam. All guarantees are between buyer and seller. ALL SALES ARE FINAL. HEARTLAND SALES IS NOT LIABLE AFTER THE SALE AND DOGS HAVE LEFT OUR FACILITY.
11. All AKC dogs must and will be micro chipped. (This is required by AKC.) MICROCHIP FEE FOR DOGS MICROCHIPPED BY HEARTLAND SALES WILL BE $15.OO PER DOG.
12. Dogs will be accepted between the hours of 4-8 PM Friday night before the sale, and Saturday morning between 7-9 AM. ALL PAPER WORK MUST BE FILLED OUT AND COMPLETED PRIOR TO CHECK IN OF DOGS. ALL PAPERWORK MUST BE IN AN ENVELOPE. You must provide your own envelope.
13. All dogs must have a visible tag with its number on tag. This number will correspond with the catalog number. Place the tag around the dogs neck with either a collar or heavy twine, ect. To ensure the dogs' well being, make sure the tag is a "good fit" - not too tight, not too loose.
14. AKC registration papers CANNOT be signed until dog is sold! We ask that all other registration papers be signed prior to sale.
15. STATEMENTS MADE SALE DAY TAKE PRECEDENCE OVER ALL PRINTED MATERIAL.
16. ALL DOGS CONSIGNED FROM OUT OF STATE MUST HAVE HEALTH CERTIFICATES ACCOMPANYING THE DOG.
17. New owners need to INSPECT THEIR PURCHASES AND MAKE SURE PURCHASES ARE CORRECT BEFORE LEAVING PREMISES. HEARTLAND SALES IS NOT RESPONSIBLE AFTER LEAVING PREMISES.
18. ALL SALES ARE FINAL.
19. All sellers must stay at the auction site until their dogs are sold and the paperwork is completed. $20.00 per dog per day will be charged for dogs left at the auction
20. All equipment will be sold at the auctioneers discretion. There is a flat 15% commission charge on equipment. Please provide us with an itemized list for publication on the sale bill.
21. AGE LIMIT OF DOGS WILL BE 8 WEEKS UP TO 5 YEARS OF AGE AT DATE OF SALE. ONLY EXCEPTION IS COMPLETE KENNEL SELLOUTS, SOME BULLDOGS AND VERY HEAVY BRED FEMALES.
22. Sale deadline will be 15 days prior to sale. ALL ENTRIES RECEIVED AFTER THE DEADLINE DATE WILL BE ENTERED IN THE NEXT SALE. NO EXCEPTIONS!
23. As of January 2006, Heartland Sales will not accept the following breeds of dogs: American Pit Bull Terrier or American Staffordshire Terrier, Doberman Pinscher, Chinese Shar-Pei and Ori-Pei, and Rottweillers. Puppies of these breeds may be allowed at the discretion of the auction company.
24. Until further notice you MUST consign more females than males of each breed consigned. Example you are consigning 5 Shih Tzus and 5 Yorkies - you must consign at least 3 female Shih Tzus and 3 female Yorkies. You may consign as many females as you want of any breed without consigning males. We do not require that you consign any males to consign females.
